Okay so this is my second reef tank. It's a 10g aio with two clowns a couple zoa's and a bird'snest coral. Over the past couple weeks (tank has been up for about 6 months now) there has been an odd growth of algae in the tank or maybe it's bacteria it's hard to tell. At first I thought it was green hair alage but it's mostly Brown in color.

I attached some pics and was wondering if anyone has any insight, cure and or identification.

It's smothering my corals and it comes back as soon as I scrape it away. Parameters: ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0-5 ph 8.2 salinity

Please and thank you!

So what ever type of algae it actually is it has calmed down. I started dosing 1ml of h2o2 (it's a 10g) every day and feeding once every other day. I also took out all the red with my lighting. So a couple weeks of this and I'm hoping it will be under control.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
