hey guys,

Currently I'm dosing ESV B-ionic 2 part equally as recommended. It's working great to keep my parameters stable.

My question is, if my Ca is lower than i'd like it to be, am I okay to add ANOTHER brand additive that is specifically Ca? I want to raise my Ca to about 440-450 range as it's around 410 only... But I do not want to raise my alk. I like it at 7.5....

Will I be okay in just increasing it with another additive, and resuming my 2 part??

Just increase the cal part of the ESV dose.

Or add another product. Either way.

Im hesitant to dose the Ca part individually because I’ve read everywhere that this two part has to be dosed equally. People have had bad experience dosing separately ..

I do have another additive that is just pure calcium ...

In an ideal world, you are correct that alk and calc need to be dosed equally. Unfortunately our tanks are NEVER an ideal world. The salt you're using, the frequency and volume of water changes, the phases of the moon (well, maybe not that one ), are going to determine the amounts of alk and calc needed. Trust the testing you're doing and dose accordingly.

On that note, there is nothing wrong with 410. I actually target 400 on calc.

I have dosed uneven amounts since day one......I would just increase the Ca dosing if you want to raise that number.

I’ll hold off on raising it for a week or so and see how my tank does. I feel it’s a little on the low side...

Your calcium is perfect at 410-415ppm. Just leave it be and keep doing equal dosing. I am doing tne same thing and ESV is keeping my alk and cal stable. If you do need to increase either alk or cal just increased the dose of either one a little until you get where you want to be.
