White High Gloss Aquarium Stand. Paint or Formica

Hey guys,

I know obviously using Formica will provide a nice waterproofing with some MDF.

However in reviewing some DIY information it might be a harder and lengthier process custom making a stand with White Formica vs painting it with a High Gloss white with several primers in-between with sanding etc.

Honestly I probably ultimately want the least time consuming option as I'm planning to make 2 mini stands, but in order to get them into the living room... they'll have to have that high gloss white finish says the boss lady.

Just trying to see if anyone in this forum has done either and if so which did you find good about what method you went with?

I have a formica floor for 15 years of heavy traffic, cant beat it.
But it would take a time commitment to install on stand.

Yeah I like the fact that it's really so durable and water proof. Also easy to clean, stain resistant.... so many pluses that even a really good paint on a wood just can't match....

Maybe theform factor of flooring planks makes the job easier?
