White specs on tank glass

Hello,

I’ve recently been getting these white specs on my tank glass.

I’ve tried finding answers myself but am unsure as the internet seems to think it could be many things.

My 160l tank has been running for about 7 months now. I test salinity, Ph, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite as well as calcium.

I have 2 clowns, a coral banded shrimp, 5 Nassarius snails and 3 Trochus. I also have a Duncan and a Toadstool coral.

Does anyone know what these white specs could be and how I can get rid of them? Is there something else I should be testing for?

Are they hard little swirly things? That would be spirobid worms they are harmless filter feeders. But they are unattractive, and you'll also find those shells inside your equipment when you clean it and its a pita to get them off. I am not aware of any way to eradicate them, but if you keep your dom and pom (dissolved and particulate organic matter) level low it will somewhat control the population.

Tbh they’re too small for me to make out and swirls on any of them. But they do take some elbow grease to get off.

When you say keeping dom and pom down, would that just be managed by filter sock, protein skimmer and regular water changes?
