That fish recovered from that particular episode, as I recall - and did well for a while, but passed in the time between 2017 and now. Currently have a trio of flame angels in a much larger tank.

So it went away on its own?

I have a rosy red minnow with the same spots! It does not exhibit any strange behavior. Has had the spots for about 2 weeks now. Variety of other fish in the tank (35 gal) and none of them have these spots. I'm dumbfounded.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

The purple tang in the original post had "idiopathic mucus glugs". That just means mucus plugs of unknown cause. If you scrape those, all you'll see is mucus, there is no parasite involved.

I talk about it a bit here (in the PDF link on the right side)

However, your rosy red minnow isn't known for developing this issue. Are the spots on the minnow in the same place for the two week time?
