Who places their Zoas in the sand? If you do leave a picture below. I would love to see how this done.

Yesterday I bought a few zoa frags and I have placed them in the sand. Can you place them in the sand? I think it would look amazing to have them grow all over the sand.

You can, but I recommend blowing them off with a turkey baster every once in a while. In my experience, zoas don’t like things on them. But palys will attach sand to their base.

Good to know. I will blow on them with a turkey baster every week.

Will zoas be able to grow along the sand?
Will they get enough light that low?

That looks amazing. I think all the colors on the sand make the tank look more alive.

How has the growth been since you have put them in the sand?

Too much. The pikachus have covered both their plug and their stem, the others are similarly overgrown. Some of them have managed to grow onto other surfaces they weren't supposed to. This is all because I haven't made time to put them onto rocks where they're supposed to be! Now they are like permanent fixtures in the sand. Bah!

It better to have a lot of growth than none!
