Hello,

I have a bubble coral since about a year and it has been healthy and beautiful until maybe 2 months ago, when it stopped to fully extend for a reason I cant identify. AFAIK, nothing has really changed in my tank parameters or maintenance. All my other corals, including severals lps and some sps, are thriving. I included a picture of the bubble coral, which is very closed today, and a fts.

Parameters :
Alk = 9.5
Ca = 450
Mg = 1425
NO3 = 8-10
PO4 = 0.10-0.15
Sg = 1.026

The only thing that changed a little bit over last months is NO3, which used to be more at 15-20 than 8-10.

Lights are 2× radion xr15 blue g5 at 60%, but they used to be at 70-75% (I thought maybe the bubble was getting too much light). It is getting approx 100-120 PAR. The bubble is getting very gentle flow.

Any idea what is going on ? I really like this coral, I would be very sad to lose it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

My Bubble Coral
Mine does not do well with a lot of current. I had to deflect the current. Hope you can save it.

It really isnt getting any strong flow. Only very indirect water movement...

When something weird happens in my tanks, I automatically do a large water change. I suggest that if you haven’t done it yet. Otherwise I have no idea but wish you good luck.

The Betta rubbing against it when it goes into that cave?
Exactly what I was wondering .

EDIT: This is mine. Its getting similar par and medium flow from 4 MP40s but it's center of the tank so flow it not direct. Mine likes enough flow to make it kind of wiggle like jello if that makes sense.

Did you add any GFO recently? I notice that my LPS get irritated if I don’t rinse my GFO out enough before putting in my tank. It irritates their skin but it doesn’t really impact anything less in my tank.

Thank you all for your great inputs. I didnt think about fish possibly irritating it and that really makes sense. My tomini tang also likes to pass around this cave. Ill try to move the bubble coral.
