hi, my forrest fire coral has been with me for 2.5 months and it is growing very slowly why ?
parameters;
ca 410 ( salifert )
KH 8.2 ( salifert )
nitrat 2 ( salifert )
phosphate cannot be measured ( salifert )
I've found that they need a solid magnesium supply to be happy. Nothing outrageous but stable at 1350+. The one I got took about 3 months to get settled and then went crazy. So perhaps time is the best medicine.
Looking at those photos, that is actually pretty good growth. Now that it has encrusted a base, it will start sending out more branches. I hope that this helps!
There are a few things to consider here, not sure how you are testing PH but with the Seneye or PH probe you should get an hourly reading, look at what the swing is over the course of a 24 period. evaluate if it is stable and what the dip is during the night when there is no light.
Additionally, Corals need some small about of phosphate to promote growth. From what I have been reading and watching levels below .03 are good.
