Why Reef2Reef?

After being on several different forums I have to say that Reef2Reef is by far the best! No matter what you are looking for ID's, chemistry questions, lighting questions, or even just an opinion on how your tank looks there is always someone to help out. Now, my question for you is...what "impresses" you the most about Reef2Reef? I would have to say how knowledgeable this community is. I also love the fact that when I open my facebook page there is always either a member or vendor posting links to Reef2Reef!! I would also like to take this moment to thank David and Tonya for such a wonderful place to come and make new friends and get all our answers to our reef addiction!! THANK YOU BOTH!!!

R2R always pulls together to help out, whether it be through donations or thoughts and prayers...

most reefing forums care about our hobby but few care so much for each other...

I have pretty much been here since the beginning, since before it was R2R( I forget the original forum name). I believe membership was in the 100's at the time I signed up. It is just a positive friendly atmosphere.

I love the fact that people are treated with respect. Beginners are given the help they need because no question is too basic. And there's so many knowledgeable people. I've learned a ton!

Yeah tough love is dished out but almost always because of genuine concern. I've posted here.... a LOT since I joined. A virtual home is where your virtual heart is... mine is here. I use this board for nfo... and for fun although most it seems might not prefer my sense of fun.

I have been on many forums (mostly cichlid and photography) and must say this is one of the most nicest, most respectful ones around. I attribute this to Rev, he has everyone grounded and somehow most everyone acts appropriately. Foul language isn't tolerated and that seems to bring out the good in most folks, go figure. I really like this site, check it several times a day.

Most forums have the exact same rule set, but its the mods who make the site worth coming to. I agree, rev keeps everyone inline pre-incident! Its mainly slips of the tongue (or finger since we type) that get of course censored but rarely will you get attacked by anyone.

The thing about family oriented is all families are different and this site appreciates that. Other sites may ban you for announcing you still use undergravel filters or tomato clowns in with sharks. Even odd ideas get you shunned elsewhere. I have had some messed up ideas that actually were partially turned realities here

Reef2Reef is where i found all my knowledge when i was first getting into the hobby and where i come first for knowledge today. people here are willing and knowledgeable to share what they have experienced. also , there is no other site i have found that is so up too date and chill. no where else do people manage their site like the mods here.

I've only been on here for 2 days, and I don't have my tank set up yet, but everyone has been so helpful and nice that I've talked to, which is nice because being brand new to saltwater is a little intimidating and seeing other ppl's set ups and listening to suggestions really do help with the feeling of being new lol...thank y'all for being so nice and inviting

I'm sorry your results weren't good, but I'm glad we have this place to bounce ideas off each other...as I've gone thru my schooling to become a mechanic, I've learned to watch the different web forums so I know what the problems are and what fixes work and what doesn't so the customer's vehicle is fixed once and is done, not fixed 10 times and still coming back for the same problem...so I'm trying the same approach with this saltwater tank, and with all the information I've been given and read here, I honestly think this is more doable than I originally thought, especially coming from freshwater, it's a completely different world and I was kinda afraid of all this, but now I know theres help willing and ready, saltwater sounds easier than what I originally thought it was, still a lot more to it than freshwater, but I think the reward will be worth it in the end :) I loved freshwater, don't get me wrong, but I've always wanted a saltwater tank :) and thank ya, for the compliment, sorry for being long winded lol
