Wife Agro

I'm getting the impression that a lot of people don't actually talk to their partners about things that might be bothering them while they are still small, inconsequential issues. Do you understand what her needs are compared to your wants? Do you understand why she has those needs?

If you do consider her a full partner, there shouldn't be any issue discussing ways [with her] to compromise and reach a place that works for both parties.
Without a shadow of a doubt, my wife is amazing. She truly is and I wouldnt trade her for the world lol. She just works in the medical industry gets home exhausted, doesnt want to have to deal with Feeding fish, smelling anything odd coming from the tank, having techs in the house, etc etc

Also, I gotta be honest, when I read that you were $65k deep, and then scrolled down and saw that tank... I was a bit surprised. I was expecting to see some insanely huge 400+ gal tank with tons of colorful rare and expensive corals.

How the heck did you get $65k deep with that tank? I have a 200 gallon brand new tank, with all top of the line equipment, all the latest tech and gadgets, etc. I'm not even remotely close to $65k in after 3 different tanks and 12 years in the hobby!
welp now you sound like my wife lol.

When my wife saw the first post-reefing bank statement she said I could have an NFRO tank: No Fish Rock Only.

welp now you sound like my wife lol.

per cleaning alone its 200 twice a month for three years. This doesnt include any of the chemicals, food, or technical maintenance that goes wrong when something breaks. (Salt gets in everything)

I "Auto Approve" everything my wife asks for. Then when I want a coral, or a new gun, I don't even ask.

Now, $65k is a lot of money. I smoked $65k worth of cigarettes over 25 years. My first house costed $65k.
not here, I spend 4,800 a year on just having the tank cleaned. Thats 14,400 in just cleaning over the last 3 years alone.

That's $400 a month to scrape some glass and dump the old water back in. I'm amazed you wife is as understanding as she is!

Medical industry, she's is used to sterile clean environments. Id would suggest spending a bit less on tank cleaning and more on house cleaners, that should solve most of the complaints. Have the tank cleaners come by when she is at work too. As for bottles, you have a stand, tuck them away.

Deal with my wife is its out of sight. Whatever I want to put in there or need for kits, testing, water etc. When the doors are closed, its existence is not known.
