I recently got some meteor shower cyphastrea, and do to the frag being flat and my very uneven rock work, its making very little direct contact with the rock. There is a very small gap for the most part. Will the coral grow over this gap, or does it have to be direct contact to grow/encrust?

If it ever does bridge the gap it will take a lot longer.

If you are happy with its location you can just put a bunch of superglue on the bottom of the plug to make contact. It will grow over that with no problem.
