will hammer coral sting me

I am going to move my hammer coral to the bottom of the tank since its color is fading and am wondering if i grab it with my hands if it will sting me.

Nope. Hammer corals do not sting. Just be careful to not bump the heads on anything or they may die.

They release a sort of slime when they are disturbed. That slime stings other things in the tank. some people have reported allergic reactions to it.

My wife likes to run her fingers through my hammers tho and she never feels any negative effects
