Will Zoas inhibit frag growth?

I have some zoas starting to grow closer and closer to my Oregon blue tort frag. Will this effect the frag’s growth? Should I remove some zoas or move the frag?

I have Zoas up and around a tort with no apparent effect on the tort - but a frag is not a frag is not a frag, and it could be different for you and yours. I do trim them (the Zoas) back for esthetics as much as anything

How do you trim back zoas?

with a snip snip here, and a snip snip there... don't know if that's the right way to do it, but it works for me - smile

I never found them to have much of an impact unless they touch. You can kill back the zoas with some kalk paste - it sometimes takes a few applications.

Anytime an acro is fighting another coral it's going to zap it of energy and therefore affect growth, color ,hardiness.

I recently had to pull at one of my zoa frag plugs. It'd grown onto the rockwork and my elegance has been doing some growing and started to sting at it... so instead of having a whole colony upset I attempted at pulling it off and placing it somewhere safer. Unfortunately it tore during the process... but fortunately both the parts left behind (that arent being stung by Elegance) and the frag plug seem to be doing okay.
