Would a complete rescape be an issue if I use 1/4 of my current live rock placed in my sump? I would like to rescape but I want to keep the bacteria colony thriving. I'm thinking of keeping another 1/4 lean against the back wall for about a month or two while the new dry rock cures. Thoughts?

Tank is 130g. I have about 1lb if media ball already in the sump.

Why don’t you just cure the rock with water change water then add it to your tank in 2 months?

I would like to avoid having to setup any more items/equipment in my apartment. I'm just seeing if what I have proposed would be possible.

your talking about cycling dry rock in a tank with coral? How much dry rock? If it’s a single rock yea that will be ok. If it’s a ton of rocks that will cause your whole tank to cycle again, most likely killing everything in it with ammonia spikes, die offs, etc.
I live in an apartment too. I set up a 32gal Brute can on my porch with a power head, return pump, heater. It worked well and was out of the way. Check salinity, that’s about it. In a month it should be good to good, longer is better.
