Would you rather do a peninsula or drop off tank?

Both of these tank styles are fairly popular and trending in the hobby currently, I feel as though the peninsula is a little bit more work as there are more surfaces that need to be cleaned. The drop off style is more unique though in my opinion and can be pretty pricey. I've always wanted to do a drop off style tank with sand in the lower section and bare bottom up top, and then do strictly sps up top and lps down below. What would your preference be, and how would you scape it?

I have done peninsula, but I have always wanted a drop off.
If I had to pick though I think the peninsula has a user friendly foot print.
