Acclimation time!

Out with the old, in with the new. I always get rid of old frag plugs if I can.

Then dip! I recommend swapping frag plugs, dipping, and quarantine for all ALL new frags. This is nothing against WWC or any friend or other source of frags. Once a pest is in the system it's really hard to get them out.

This is quite the process. ...took about 2 hrs total to get everyone in the tank, but in my mind its worth it.

I'm new with corals. Do you guys cut the bottom of the plug off when placing them in the tank?

It's really personal preference. Some do, some remove the plug altogether and mount the coral directly on rock work, some remove the coral from the plug and mount on a new plug.

Be very careful if you are removing the frags from the plugs. It is never a good idea to rip or cut the flesh right after the coral has arrived from shipment. We recommend leaving them on the plugs and just cut the peg off to create a nice flat surface to epoxy them to your rocks.

The only ones i took off the plugs were the ones that i could clearly see glue underneath. If it was encrusting i always just lesve it and cut the peg off. I hope everyone else uses their best judgement when it comes to handling precious coral.

I just cut the bottom part of the plug off. The frags are still on the big part.

Only upset I had was that they didn't have any Hellboy Chalices. But their customer service was impeccable. Refunded my money, and preemptively including a free frag with he shipment and agreed ti notify me when some where available. All the crew @WWC are just amazing.

Some blue light shorts...

It all depends. In some cases I had predrilled holes in my rock knowing I would want a plug there and most of those are in high flow areas. Others I just nip the peg off with tile nippers to get the flat surface or even just nip the peg short to fit in a crevice. Most of the coral that I've had to glue with no plug have fallen off the plug for one reason or anther. I never glue anything till I find the spot the coral likes.
