Spoke with Chris at @WWC Chris suggested to try a amino acid in the food to see if the goni will open up. I also use reef Nutrition Oyster feast, that might help with getting the goni to open up. You are doing everything right, as Chris suggested goni can be finicky.

Thanx @jsker I have been doing the oyster feast like you recommended it hasn't helped I moved it one more time to the center of the tank and it started barely coming out it's not fully extended by any means but it's not soccer ball like anymore either here's a horrible pic lol

Update moved it again still never opened anymore than the last pic I think it's too much light I dunno though i got it under a ledge and immediately popped out a little bit oysterfeasted it while it was partially opened trying to keep it alive it's still bright pink no skeleton showing through I dunno it's weird lol

Hey, Hey, great news :). That could be the answer, that there is too much light and you need to have down low for a bit and the gradually move it up. That goni is tough and want to stay with you

It is actually about 9 9.5 now been slowly getting it in line most say between 8 and 10

First time I seen it this much opened

Can't be too much flow only have a habeas rw15 set on 3 pulse more at one end and a hydor like 550 or something at the other end mainly to blow into the left side of the corner on The overflow
And my return is throttled back so much not real sure how the water gets from the sump lol my leds are at 50 white 100 blues for 3 hrs peak a day ramps up and down after that blues come on at 9 whites at 10 whites off at 8 blues off at 930 so I dunno lol

Well shoot that didn't work I Thu k it's too much light my black boxes are set to 40% max for 3 hrs blues 100% after 2 hr sunrise

Think they would replace it under ground of its clearly bipolar :-)

It's bleaching. I don't know how high your lights are from the top of the tank but I use chinese black box also. My fixture is 16 inches from water level and the whites are max 15% and blues are max at 45%. These LEDs are very bright even though they are cheap. I suggest you read up on light acclimation.

I would say it has been frustrating, and you have done everything that can be done. If the rest of the corals are doing fine, then it is time to let go. When mine gets big enough I will frag it only for you.

My lights are bought 8 inches off the water and it's a 2 ft tall tank they are galaxy hydro full spectrum Wi-Fi 165w everything else seems to be fine

These PAR reading were taken with all powerheads/return pump off with Apogee mq-200 meter. Lights 8" above water.

Sometimes that assessment can be bad. My old 20 gallon tank, I kept the same lights on with whites at 40% and blues at 80% only 12 inches from water level. My new tank(jbj 30), because i don't have coralline or sps, I keep the whites at 15% and blues at 45% and 16 inches above water. Aside from all of that, any new coral addition I did ever, went through light acclimation. I still do light acclimation. Once my new JBJ tank is filled with coral, I will begin to acclimating them back up to 40% white and 80% blue. I'm just waiting for the tank to stabilize more.
