Bill do you have some of that Acid Trip? Awesome colors.
I do, but it suffered a setback when PO4 rose unexpectedly in the grow out tank that the mother colony is in so it is currently recovering...

I'll be sure to pick up a "Get Well Soon" card next time I am at CVS.

Awesome!
My nub never made it, but no worries, I have ASD Rainbow, Event Horizon, and JF Solar Flare. I really like this strain of millis. So far, ASD and Acid Trip, in my care, resemble each other. Solar Flare is definitely different, jury still out on my Event Horizon, it's been stalled since day 1. Your rendition is pretty spot on, pulling red tones as well as orange, yellow, and green hues. Fantastic job!

Figured an update is long overdue. The reason it's long overdue is because my corals don't currently look very good. I haven't wanted to share but as we.all know SPS is rarely without its ups and downs...

I have been dealing with issues that I could have figured out a long time ago if I had actually gave it some serious thought but I never really did for one reason or another. That is until 1 day I felt the unmistakable tingle when I put my hand in the tank. A quick check with the multimeter showed that I had some stray voltage in the tank. A full 120 volts of stray voltage to be precise. I found the culprit to be an old maxijet that I use to keep detritus from building up in a chamber of my sump. I'm not sure how long it had been leaking electricity but I don't think it had been too long because I never felt the sting until the day it was obvious. Upon removing it I was given another surprise that it was also rusting which is totally awesome. Anyway some water changes are getting things back on track but the damage was worse than I was hoping but overall not bad all things considered, in fact some corals have never been better while others look like crap. Here are some pics.

I am going to guess few of us clean/inspect our pumps as often as we should. Couple months ago I pulled the skimmer out for cleaning only to discover the housing was cracked from the swelling/rusting mechanicals (magnets?) inside. I cannot believe the thing was still operating. No obvious casualties thankfully.

Looking back it seems I have grown a little complacent since I am no longer traveling for work. When I was in the road I would plan for things and make sure that everything was perfect prior to my trips because I knew I was going to be gone for a month or longer. I spent a large part of my time at home triple checking on the tank. Now that I'm home I just don't do that and you see the result. I am happy to say that I haven't lost anything but it's obvious that things could be better.

I have also made a lot of changes to the tank. I added more flow via 2 more MP40's and a UV Sterilizer. It's been a lot of changes in a short amount of time coupled with the rusty electrifying pump so I'm happy that things didn't get really bad.
