XP Aqua Sumpless ATO Broken (yet again) - Alternatives?

Since XP Aqua support is currently useless, figured I would ask the forum before throwing it in the garbage.


Current Sumpless ATO has lasted 6 months. This is #2- last one also died around the 6 month mark (power supply issue). The controller is refusing to recognize the pump is connected (leading to endless beeping). XP Aqua sent me a new pump which is also not being recognized. Their only solution is to disassemble essentially the whole thing and mail it to them at my expense for diagnostics with no clear timeline for resolution.


Since I absolutely can't run my system without an ATO without risking a crash and have zero interest repeating this circus every 6 months, does anyone have any sumpless ATO recommendations? Troubleshooting suggestions also appreciated. I would rather not throw even more $$$ at this if it can be fixed.

Ive have had my xp aqua duetto first gen for years without issue but i have an extra one just incase.
It sounds like your unit may have a defective controller. They sent you a free pump already and are asking you to send back your controller for troubleshooting which is kind of a normal practice and doesnt sound like a useless response.
you should buy a new one if its such a critical piece for you and you cannot top off by hand for a couple weeks.

It's wild you think I should be expected to frequently purchase (this would be #3 in less than a year) a not particularly cheap product because it can't live longer than 6 months and could die at any time and be out of service for weeks at a time every 6 months while the company maybe fixes the last one under warranty. I'm glad you have that kind of money and apparently free time to micromanage top offs but I sure don't. You'll also have to forgive that I don't love the thought of paying even more money entirely out of pocket for them to diagnose the problem. For a product that lasted 6 months, twice. They could at least cough up a shipping label so I'm not out another $20 in shipping.

Relax. Things fail. Weather it be from an outside source or defective products. And sorry, I missed that this is your 3rd unit.
You mentioned power supply issues...did the power supply fry the controller both times?
I assume they replaced the first two free of charge?

If you have not had a good experience with them, want something more reliable and would not like to buy a new one from them, i recommend the spectrapure litermeter system.
Its much more robust.
