Hi everyone,

I’m currently researching lighting options for a small cube reef tank (around 45 cm / 18”) with a heavy SPS focus (around 80% SPS, including mid-level placement).

I’ve been seriously considering the Radion XR15 G6 Blue, but after reviewing several real-world PAR maps shared on forums and user measurements, I’m a bit concerned about PAR intensity and penetration when using only a single XR15 over a cube tank. In some setups, mid-level PAR seems lower than expected for SPS, unless the light is mounted very low or run at very high intensity.

For those of you who are successfully running SPS-dominant tanks with a single XR15 G6 Blue, I’d really appreciate hearing:

- Your tank dimensions

- Mounting height

- Intensity / schedule

- Actual PAR readings (if available)

Do you feel the XR15 G6 Blue provides enough punch and consistency for SPS, or do you think it works better as part of a multi-light setup rather than a single-fixture solution?

Looking forward to learning from your experience. Thanks in advance!

Oh so you tank is a bit smaller than mine. And reading some reviews saying that G5 is way more different than G6 in par reading

Trust me that light will grow anything you want in an 18" cube.
My 18' cube running 2 16hds which is alot less light than your XR15 gen 6.

On my 20” cube, with my Radion G6 Pro running the AB+ spectrum at 100%, I was getting about 270 PAR on the top rocks, which are roughly 15” tall.

After installing the High Intensity lens, the PAR increased to around 350, which should be more than enough.

Forgot to mention this is mounted on RMS arm which is about 8.5" above water line
