I was wondering if someone can help me. Is the XR15 Pro Gen 5 enough light for a waterbox marine x 60.2. Or should I go with something bigger like the AI Hydra 32.

Thanks

If you want a mix reef you might be better off getting more then one point source light to help with shading. Either two xr15 or 2 ai primes would be better suited imo down the road. Could always start with 1 xr15 and add another down the road but 2 ai primes from the beginning imo

The xr15 is more powerful than the hydra 32 bc the radion has much better spread , so you’ll have better par spread throughout the tank. The 32 will need to be mounted much higher, which reduces par, to achieve a decent spread. I own nothing but hydras but the radion g5 will be a better light for your needs

You’ll have better sps success in the 300-350 par range but lighting probably isn’t your issue if they are receiving 200 par and still dying. What’s your no3/Po4? Export method? Alk?

Either will be fine. If you have used Eco smart in the past you may want to give AI a roll. I am very impressed with both their lights and wavemakers. They may have made me change my way of setting up tanks.
