Yasha Goby good idea?

I have a 29 gallon biocube with a couple corals and a week old awesome chalk basslet and I think the yasha goby is awesome looking but will they screw up your rock work ? And do they need a paired shrimp?

I am not sure what the basslet's attitude is like, but if it picks on the goby it will hide all the time. I loved mine until he jumped ship. They do pair with pistol shrimp but it is far from necessary. The pistol shrimp are the ones that mess with the sand and rock work the most, the Yasha will usually just make his home in an existing hole in your rockwork. Sick fish as long as they don't get picked on.

The basslet is a little scared itself only hangs out in his little corner but comes out and gets crazy for food. The LFS had him in a community tank with other fish and kept to himself. That's good they don't need a shrimp ! I was hoping not.

The basslet is also very small like 1 3/4 inch

shrimps dont mess with rockwork bro. not at all. If you have it touching the bottom glass youd be fine if the goby plans to dig. I got a fire shrimp and hes just awesome swaying back and fourth all day.

they shouldnt mess with your rockwork i think what your trying to say is that they would move your sandbed under the rocks and cause them to fall? but i doubt that would happen cause they just make the burrow big enough for them to live in otherwise they would kill themselves when the rock fell. you should be good if u want a pistol shrimp

yeah....my blue spot jawfish collapsed his cave and died. It was rough watching 70% literally get flushed down the drain. sad sad day

I think I'm going to get the yasha/pistol combo then. Do they need to be introduced at the sametime?

well your bette roff getting them in a pair cause it a little cheaper i think
