My Stonogobiops yasha has been coming out of her burrow with her mouth wide open and keeping it that way for about a week or two, now.
I didn't realize how wide their mouths are. At first, I was startled and thought she had been bullied and had damaged her mouth. But no evidence of bullying, and she is actually able to open and close her mouth.
When she is "watching" for the shrimp, she stays there with her mouth closed. Every time she comes out of the burrow, her mouth is wide open and stays open till she decides to close it and start watching (or I put food in her mouth).
She eats when I drop food in front of her. Always been a fish that I have to target feed, because she'll let mysis and pellets blow right by her, but if I use my pipette, she'll take food from the pipette.
Everything's alright with her, right?
