I have a 62 gallon Tideline AIO. Currently my fish are 2 PJ cardinals, yellow eye kole tang, 2 black ice clowns, small yellow tang (biota baby), and a lawnmower blenny. The Kole tang and yellow tang get along no problem. But the Kole tang I've seen constantly chase the lawnmower to the point where the lawnmower hides and barely shows his face anymore. Now I just noticed that one of my PJ's has his back fins shredded some and something hanging from his lip. I haven't added any fish in over 2 months, and my PJ's were the first fish in the tank back in May of this year. So while it could be a disease, I think it's less likely.

I'm starting to think that the kole tang is a bully to more than the lawnmower. I put a mirror on the outside of the tank, and the kole now spends a good portion of his day trying to attack the mirror. It's only been up for 24 hours, but at feeding time just now, he left the mirror just long enough to chase the lawnmower. Mind you, the kole didn't eat himself, just chased the lawnmower.

What do I do? Do I need to get rid of the kole? I like him, but not if he's going to be a punk to everyone else in the tank. Attaching pictures of the PJ incase you think it's not physical, but disease. But I've witnessed multiple times the kole chasing the lawnmower. I haven't personally seen the Kole attack the PJ, but the PJ hangs out in the caves a lot where I can't see him and doesn't dart away quickly like the lawnmower does, so it's possible he's nipping and catching the PJ where maybe he can't catch the lawnmower?

They can be aggressive. I would think about trading him in.

Bristletooth Tangs are natural Grazers, and they see a Lawnmower Blenny as competition. I had a White Tale Bristletooth and he would harass my Lawnmower Blenny constantly. I have a 140 Gallon Tank with plenty of Rock and Algae so my Lawnmower could sneak out and Graze and still had the pot belly indicating he was getting enough to eat. Your Tank is smaller, so the Mirror Trick is not going to work as it's a different dynamic going on. I was bummed when I moved my Tank and lost the Tang, but the Lawnmower is a really neat fish with character plus not easy to keep. He's still going strong after 2 plus years and is about 5" long. As far as the Cardinal, I doubt the Tang is the problem. It may be the other Cardinal.
