Picked this up recently at an LFS. It seemed like a unique color morph as I've never seen a yellow frogspawn before. It really stands out in the tank. Is there a name for this? I've tried to look online but can't quite match it up to anything. It's more yellow than gold. Trying to decide if i should grab another. Opinions?

It's definitely an Octospawn, looks close to a Solomon Islands Yellow/Gold/Rainbow Octo...if so, that's pretty awesome, as a single head can go upwards of $120, depending on what you paid...yes go get them all, and ship me one too🤣🤣

They tend to like a bit more flow than a frogspawn also.

That's good to know. The LFS had just got these in the same day I visited and had about 7 of these. Paid $70 and thought it was a bit high but hadn't seen anything like this color before...sounds like I might have gotten a steal. I think I'll go grab another then for my office tank.

Branching Octo. Used to bring these in by the box load 20+ years ago. They are beautiful once they settle in and color up a little

Thanks all the feedback, I posted this on the Reditt forum and the consensus was it was a bleached octospawn that I should return to the LFS. Yet here...things seems much more consistent and thought out.

It is slightly bleached but that’s normal. This coral is harvested from turbid water and when placed in clear filtered water and the associated shipping stress it lightens in color. Given good tank conditions, the coral will settle in and regain its color. They always do
