In thr last 24 hours my yellow tang has developed this throughout the dorsal and into the area directly below it .
That and has shown no interest in food .
Water conditions are excellent .
Only recent changes was the addition of a Royal Gramma last week.
Tank is a RS 250 it's been set up for four months .
But yellow tang has been with me for years .
QT treatment is not an option :/
Any thoughts .

Hmmm you say water conditions are excellent but red on the fins usually means ammonia poisoning... are there other fish in this tank and how long ago was it setup?

But if not that its probably bacterial and will clear up on its own provided the correct diet

The areas of redness can often be a symptom of a bacterial infection which normally is a result of something else preceeding it like ich, velvet, flukes, injury, etc. Was the RG QT'd? Velvet and bacterial infections are rampant in the industry.

Nitrate 2.5
All with salifert .
I'll double test the ammonia with another test kit though .
Yes all other fish are fine .
It's been running for 4 months .
Weekly additions 2mls of MB 7.

When this happened, do you remember if the fish was swimming weird or hiding constantly in the shade? Any scratching on rocks or crazy swimming patterns? Mine started looking red as well and refused food. I have him in QT now running copper in case it was velvet or ich.

Any update? Got the same thing going on with 1 yellow tang. No fish added, perfect water but did add corals.
I pulled the YT into qt again and ran two round of prazi and kanaplex, since no spots like ich or velvet were seen. The YT has been in the DT for 2 weeks now, and is showing symptoms again. My guess is gill flukes. I'm considering starting prazi pro on DT in the next few days.
