Good evening

I have recently purchased a yellow tang and after a day of being in my tank I noticed little white spots, in fear of it being ich i QT the tang and began treatment. He is now nearly two weeks in but I have noticed the little white spots have gone fluffy and I’m not confident anymore this is ich. He has one on the left side of his head and one on the left fin.

Any advice would be great!

Sorry the pictures aren’t great but he is extremely camera shy.

Also to note

No signs of rubbing or itching and until he went in the QT tank he was eating well. He is still eating but not as much currently but this could be stress related.

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Lymphocystis: Here's Humblefish's treatment advisory below. I like to use Selcon vitamin supplement for this condition. Hope this helps.

Lymphocystis:

Symptoms - Lymphocystis appears as a white or beige colored cauliflower-like growth that usually starts on the fins and spines and sometimes spreads to the body. Initially it may be small (looks like ich), and then grows in size (which is how you know it’s not ich). Lympho is a virus that many fish carry for life. Fortunately, it is rarely fatal or even harmful to the fish, and symptoms will come and go.

Treatment options - No known cure or treatment exists. However, feeding vitamin-enriched foods and maintaining pristine water conditions may expedite the “going away” process.

+1 to lympho.
I had a flame angel that developed this in QT. Fed selcon as mentioned above by @Big G and within 2 weeks of coming out of QT and into display it completely resided.

How much do you care about having a display FREE of wires, pumps and equipment?
