Hello,

My Watchman Goby normally never leaves the front of his cave. He eats well, today I came home and found him at the top of the tank and I have no idea why. I feed the fish and he touch anything, all my other fish seem fine.

Mine is very small and when I disturb the sand bed he acts the same way. But he’s back to normal the next day. Maybe one of your fish was pushing him out of his favorite spot.

I'm wondering if that might be an indication of something going on internally. Let's get some eyes on this by the "medical" experts..... @Humblefish , @melypr1985 , @Brew12 , @4FordFamily or #reefsquad ...what do you think?

I dont qt, i did add a couple of frags from a swap yesterday. i looked in his cave and there are a couple of hermits in there. I figured the pistol shrimp would have pushed them not.

But he still at the top and the lights are almost out

Mine did this for several days when I moved him from a 10 gallon nano where he was the king to my 6 foot tank with a bunch of boisterous fish. It could be something in the tank stressing him. How close to his cave does the Diamond Goby hang out?

Can't see in the video, is the YWG breathing heavy, gasping?

Have had other fish harass fish into "going vertical" and hiding in the top and corner of the tank. Are any of the other fish as bothering the YWG? And the last time it was a Pink Watchman Goby in my tank hiding in the top/corner like it wanted to jump out it was so scared.

I think i figured it out. The dang engineer goby that disappeared for 2 months and than came out took his cave. Any ideas on how to get a engineer out from under the main rock structure?

Make a new cave for the yellow. That's what I did for my mated pair. They both live in this PVC cave:

Goby home in the tank:

And I used 1 inch pipe for my goby home.

No way to get the engineer out from under rocks unless you remove it from tank. They love rearranging things all the time.
