Do you remember the very first coral you ever started with? Was it a success? Mine was a cream/brownish colored toadstool, not fancy at all. I started with it per recommendation of my buddy who helped run a LFS his mom owned. It did ok, I thought it was pretty cool at the time. Honestly, I didn’t know anything about it lol

Eagle eye zoas. I got them off petco online with some live rock. Around 15 years ago, for my dwarf seahorse tank.

Shortly after I got a purple gorgonian that I still have to this day

my first was a red/blue frag of zoas. no idea of any "name" but i thought they were pretty. they were a success up till my tank crash 4yrs ago, but they still live on from a frag i gave a friend. the new tank i started up months ago will someday have some of those zoas back in the tank

My very first one back when I started in the 90's was a strawberry coral. I knew nothing about keeping non photosynthetic corals. It didn't last very long unfortunately.

In our current tank, a 40g breeder it was the finger leather and rbt bought from a local reefer. The rbt is growing well, the leather doesn't like my low nutes

Duncan, neon green toadstool, and some unnamed zoas. The zoas melted in a week, but I still have the Duncan and toadstool.

When I first got them:

And a year later - they’ve both tripled in size:

This is the toadstool in the morning before polyps come out:
