Good morning all! I just wanted to recommend a live cam to everyone. Coral City Camera is maintained by Colin Foord of Coral Morphlogic down in the Port of Miami. For the past several years he has been seeding and maintaining a coral reef within a stone's throw of the cruise ship terminal. Of course, when I am offering this recommendation the weather in Miami is not exactly cooperating. The visibility is extremely poor this week due to weather; but I still like to leave the camera up and running on my computer during my workday. This past year saw record high water temperatures in the area and some of the corals didn't fare well, but Colin likely will place new frags this spring. In association with The University of Miami, they are working to identify the hardiest genotypes of staghorn (Acropora cervicornis) and elkhorn (Acropora palmata) corals.
