My watchman goby has a bright red spot, looks like lipstick under his chin. Could he have scraped it on the rocks? Bite? Parasite? I really love this guy. I hope he’s ok. I’ll post a pic.

Thank you so much! I’m so worried about him. I noticed it a few hours after adding a new fish (royal gramma) and they were tussling around a bit over rock territory. Hopefully that’s all it is. Gramma probably startled him out of his cave and he scraped it. Thank you...i feel better already. This sometimes happens to mine after he startles and either A) jumps out of the tank and through my fine mesh top like Houdini and hits the floor hard
Or B) gets startled by another tank mate at night and smacks himself on a rock or wall in the chaos
Gets a red spot like a bruise and it usually goes away in a week or less but definitely keep an eye on him as it could be something more than a minor injury!
