Look like some species of goniopora ( djiboutiensis? ):confused:

Some do say it's a gonio but I do have green and purple gonio and alveopora. Structure wise is doesn't look like gonio. Gonio and alveo has 24 or 12 petals, this guy somewhere around 18 or 20.

I am a loss, non of the polyps heads I could count had 24 tentacles, which should be indicative of goniopora, non of the polyps had 12 either. Hmmmm, not going to be able to narrow down until you know if there is a skeletal structure.

Exactly!. The only thing I know is I have lost almost 24 strands of hair trying to figure it out.

Looks like a zoas morph of some sort very cool

I will let it grow a bit more. It is too small at this moment, probably 3 mm across. I did see another weird looking zoas or whatever it is (single head) in between small colony of confirmed zoas i recently bought. Will try to get a picture today :)

These are the best pictures when they are closed. Light response is super fast. A few second hit by flash light, they are halfway opened. Amazing creature!
