I got a new tank with a bunch of cheap but nice Zoa rock on it. I placed an old hardy cheap Zoa frag next to it. They were sort of touching. The next day I found my cheap frag 60% melted.

My sunny d's and rainbow hornets which are about 6 inches away are doing just fine.

Do zoas zap other zoas?

The only time I've had this happen is with pink and golds. They killed every other zoa they touched and it took losing 3 small colonies to figure it out. They killed off blue steels, utters, and omegatrons which are irreplaceable. Keep those separate. Otherwise its more or less about whos going to crowd out who.

it might have been it was a fresh frag and they died. The only aggressive zoa other than button polyps are the yellow zoas with long tentacles i forget their name. Other zoas do not sting each other they might outgrow one another and kill the ones under from lack of light but not sting
