I love this older paly! Once you get it in the proper lighting and flow of your tank the rings really start to pop and it is just a beautiful coral. There has been some debate surrounding similar pieces and I myself have seen other similar palys referred to as LOTR when I do not believe they actually were.

What is your take on these and please share any photos you may have!

I bought these as LOTR's, but to me they look a bit different than your pic above. I LOVE them though. They are so bright, I would describe the color as construction zone pink.

These were sold to me at LORs. I don't know if they are or not but these are my favorites. Fast growers too.

Right at a years worth of growth.

Ritter. I think ours look like they are the same. They are my favorite zoa in my tank at the moment as well. Love the green speckles on the skirt in revs pic. But I think ours have more saturated color in the disc.

Does anybody know the true description for lotr?

Glad you like them. I'm not much of a seller though. I'm more of a buyer. :) I'm pretty bad at trade names but the guy I bought them from called them LORs so that's what we call them around here now. I think everyone local has a frag of these now.

Wow Rev, there's a blast from the past.
I remember being slightly disappointed they never looked like the zoaid pic that looked multicolored, but then I never saw ANY others that looked multicolored other than that pic. One of these days I might have to get back into zoas.

Old thread but I'm digging it back up!

Exact same palys as in the old pics I posted above. They look like LOR instead of gobstoppers now since I changed lights.

Makes me think that LOR and gobstoppers are the same paly just morphed under different lighting.
