So I just bought, literally a hour ago, a clove polyp and when I was acclimating the little guy I saw 2 zoas growing. I have a colony of zoas already. So I was wondering with proper safety equipment could I just snip them off would it harm the clove or would they be over shadowed? Or any other experienced advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

I would be tempted to leave both corals be for a couples days to see what type of zoanthids vs palys you ended up with it. What color is the clove polyp?

If you do remove the zoanthids you can do so with an exacto knife, remove as much tissue as possible to prevent the zoanthids from growing back.

Thanks Tahoe for the response. I have been looking for a name for this type of poylp but no luck. It is a pale purple color and has 6-8 feelers the guy I bought it from says a gold vien runs through it but I haven't seen it yet with the moonlights I have.
