I've read before that the long, brown, stringy stuff that comes from the mouth of zoanthids is "poop". On two occasions this past month, four of my colonies were simultaneously pooping, every single polyp.

It got me wondering if one polyp starts, do the rest follow on the colony? Also, if one colony starts, do others follow? Or is it just all related to how much I'm feeding? Also, any kind of harm to the tank when so much waste is being expelled?

Here are some shots I got of my Sunny D colony and my Chameleons/Hangover colony (id still not sure) pooping on the same day.
