Michigan best place to be a reefer?

There are so many reefers from MI makes me wonder if it's not the best place to be in the hobby. Friends, stores, clubs, etc....

What say ye?

One of the best places.

Only other place I could think of, would be LA (obvious reasons there). Then again.....you'd have to deal with all the lovely things that comes with living in the area.

I'm going to hate moving back to my hometown. Nearest marine store is a hour away (Cleveland or Columbus, hometown sits right in the middle). So it's a bummer.

I may not live in Michigan but I can almost throw a baseball INTO Michigan. :) Close enough right?

Maybe on the internet, then yes, but everyone doesn't go online and buy fish/corals online like we do. But wow there are ALOT of you michiganlanders out there...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....not likely, but im sure as hell going to try.

I might have it setup, but not likely to be running.

Not unless i sell all my coral or win the lottery.

Oh, sorry. Didn't know it was a long term project. Like pouring salt in the wound!

Well, doesn't matter. With your collection i'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I just ordered a new personal tank myself. 72" x 30" x 10". 3/4" starfire, black silicone, rimless/braceless... its going to be a sweet tank for sure. I know how your feeling cause even after the tank gets here I still have to wait for someone to buy my Elos 120 before i can even think about setting it up. No way my wife would let me have two tanks!

Id say we have to be up in the top 3 for sure! We have Tropicorium, Preuss Pets and TONS of smaller but very well stocked and staffed LFS, like Choice Aquariums in Farmington Hills, The Fish Guy in Romulus, Kee's, and a couple "The Fish Dr" stores as well. Not only that, but I have to agree that we all seem to help each other out when needed, heck when I moved my tank, I had 5 people, all very good reefers volunteer to help out! It was AWESOME!!!

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
