i would say florida is. i can go to any given reef club meeting and have an attendance of near 100 on a regular basis. thats huge IMO.

i can visit more then 10 local coral stores all within 15 min of the house.
atleast 5 of those stores always have top quiality selection

you can drive down the street and point out the houses that have reef tanks based on the blue glow shooting out the windows. (mine shines all the way across the street)

thats just to name a few

figure in freshwater and i bet Michigan has the most hobbyist per capita in the country. You states that run cichlids in outdoor ponds year round ruin our chances of claiming most gallons per capita.

Michigan has a great community of reefers. There are a lot of great stores and clubs. I have meet a ton of great people in the hobby over here and have become good friend with many of them.

actually, technically, we aren't land locked.

I can leave my place on Burt lake (northern Michigan), couple rivers and lakes later I'm in the straits of Mackinac, and from there can "technically" get out to the ocean.:xd:

I wouldn't recommend the the trip, but its possible.

I would say west coast would be the place to be. Midwest is suprisingly pretty good in general but west coast for my vote.
