I have a question about getting the tank level. I thought that I had it level, and wanted to check one more time before adding water.

When I check the top of the tank with my level, the bubble is nearly dead center, but when I check the top of the stand it is between the 2 lines, but slightly off center.

I’m curious if I should be leveling the top of the stand more than the top of the tank?

I should also note that the tank is glass with a pvc bottom. It’s sitting on a 1” foam top

After you do your best job with your level, add more water and even out the sand until you have about a full inch at least of water above all the sand. You will be able to eyeball the water level then for 'levelness', front to back and side to side.

You might want to take a look by eye after the tank is about 1/4 full-- hopefully you don't have any type of flooring that will be thrown off as the water-weight increases. Best wishes!

Thanks for the tips guys. I’ve been out of town, but I’m going to start filling it this week and see how it looks!

Advanced Acrylics shipped out my sump last week, so it should be here this week and then I can begin plumbing!

The sump arrived!

I did a pvc hybrid sump that is 48”x24”x16”. I plan on running 2 Clarisea sk5000 rollers, but they also made some 7” filter sock inserts that can be added if the rollers need service. They added heater brackets, dosing line inlets, adjustable baffle for the skimmer, and the brace is cut for three 1.5” bulkheads and three 1” bulkheads. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

I had some extra foam from the tank, so I set the sump on some foam to help eliminate high/low spots for it as well.

I also ended up adding 2 more supports on the bottom of the stand to help support the weight of the sump and equipment.

Im headed to Moab tomorrow, then next week I’ll be doing some plumbing!

Made a little more progress. It took almost 2 weeks to fill with RO water! Haha. I have most of the plumbing in place and glued, but still have a couple more things to do with the UV sterilizer and the turf scrubber.

Finished the plumbing, and leak checked everything. UV is running now, and the turf scrubber is going. I haven’t turned the lights on for the scrubber yet, where there’s not much going on in the tank.

With no leaks, I have added salt to the tank and will soon start the cycle with some Microbacter.

I ended up using some UTV light brackets to mount the UV to the stand. They had multiple holes to mount to, so it made it easy to angle the sterilizer to purge the air out of it.
Once the protein skimmer ran for about a day, the water cleared up a bunch!

Next project is the control panel for the Apex and other gear. This is just a rough draft, trying to figure out a good configuration.

Gorgeous tank!! Very well planned out for sure. Any updates?
Thank you! The cycle is just about done, and my control panel is nearly done. I have been working on getting the Apex all programmed and everything hooked up to it.
I also started working on a stand for my quarantine system I’m doing. It’s been so cold here I haven’t got around to painting it yet. I have been taking some pictures as I go, I just need to get them done!

Got a little further along with the QT stand. I painted it white, and bought some yoga mats for the top and lower shelf. I plan on having my 20 gal AIO frag/coral qt tank, an invert qt tank, a 40 gal qt tank to run copper in and be my main fish qt tank, and then I have a couple 10 gal tanks that I was thinking I would use for more sensitive fish that won’t tolerate copper and do the hybrid Tank Transfer Method.
I also put some shelves up to store boxes and other fish stuff.
