Wanted to show the transformation and get feedback of my tank build.

Current tank is a 220g tank built in 2004 that I drilled in 2011. I was a novice, so my handyman and I built a wooden stand that we didn't make sure was even with a piece of plain not treated plywood under the tank. With the help of the bulkheads that I couldn't stop from having a slow leak that plywood started to disentigrate over the years, causing the tank to lean slightly but more over the years. In August I decided to stop gambling with the hundreds of gallons and get a new tank. Re-seaming the old tank wasn't something I was interested in doing because it is almost 20 years old to keep it I would have to re-seam it.

Tank will be a mixed reef. No idea what fish or corals. I do have a purple tang, royal gramma, sunset dotty back and Atlantic blue tang in temp tank

Ordered the tank on August 15th. Dimensions are 72x30x31 with star fire on front and sides. Tank will be in wall, with 3 sides showing.

Here is equipment list:
Bashsea sump 48x18
Lifegard UV
Icecap turf scrubber
Avast Ozone
Avast Plank feeder
Jerboa DC15000 return pump
3 MP60
3 Neptune skylights
Neptune controller
Simplicity 320 skimmer

Plan on putting all electronics on a piece of plywood attached to the wall side of the tank. One side batteries, then controllers on the other side.

Test on side of tank. After I add all of the controllers to the other side of the board I will put the board on the opposite side of the tank.

Ordered some fish from Biota: Mandarin pair and 2 gold lined rabbit fish. Mandarins are sooo tiny, but eating well. I am kinda impressed.

Purple tang likes his temp tank to himself. He quickly killed the royal gramma that was his tankmate for over a year, in the prior tank. He will definitely be the last fish in the new tank.

Setup another 40g tank so I can add more fish prior to the purple tang going into the new tank.

Royal gramma is alive. He plays dead really well. I went to take him out of the tank and he swam to another rock. Purple tang isn't as mean as I thought.

Cycling 40g with large rock from the other temp tank and brightwell products. The last 2 temp tanks were cycled in 8 days with brightwell products and all fish have stayed healthy with no ammonia issues. Doing a 10-25% water change every 2-3 days helps.

Received a pair of Biota regal angels and a hippo tang. They were kinda of slim when I got them, like the rabbits and mandarins. After 2 days one of the regals died. Then 8 days after that the other regal died. They are very sensitive to ammonia, even when I did not detect any and after 3 water changes a week. I won't get another biota regal.

The tank has not shipped yet. My handyman is as anxious as I am to have it delivered. It has a design planned for the wall it will be displayed in.

Tank still isn't here yet. I did setup another 40g. Now I have 3 40g breeders and 1 20g long. Fish room is a mess, well so is the basement with fish stuff all over the place. When I do clean up I will post another pic

I am disappointed with Miracles Aquariums. They have ignored emails and voicemails the past month. Haven't heard anything from them since Oct 20th when they told me the tank would be shipped the following week.

Update: Spoke to Miracles and completely understand why there wasn't any communication. They are shipping the tank this week. Should receive it next week before the 1st.

Tank was delivered January 6th. It is on the stand. Had to get a manual lift to move the tank across the basement.

Will start plumbing it over the next few weeks. Handyman will complete the front wall and above tank door in about a week.

Ordered two swallowtail angels from NYAquatics. One didn’t make it one night, the other died a few days later. Glad they had their own 40g qt. Requested refunds but haven’t received it yet. I want to try a trio of them after that qt is bleached, cycled and setup again.
