Tank is full and ready for the cycle to start! Got everything programmed on the apex except the leak detector. Gotta run to the LFS and pick up a few peices of live rock and I should be set.

Looks like you're going with more of a wide open layout huh? What are your fish and coral stocking plans?

I just picked up another 5 or 6 rocks to fill in the left side but did want some open sand to place corals. not sure on the stocking plans yet...mostly smaller fish with may one or two that won't get bigger than 3" or so. Probably going to be a mix of corals.

Well...I wasn't happy with the cabinet for the apex...it ended up being way too crowded and messy. Found a build thread on the neptune forum and ended up picking up that cabinet today. Just got it assembled...now just gotta get everything transferred over. Now I've got twice as much room. Just got to get a piece of wood cut tomorrow to mount everything to.

Realized I'd not posted an updated pic with the rockscape. I'm sure it'll change...Lights were on for about an hour.

Well, I got everything transferred over to the new cabinet...and it all still works! I figured something would go haywire and take forever to figure out what I did wrong. Pics taken before I put the doors back on. I also added some casters to make it easier to move around...this sucker is heavy!

First pic is without the camera flash so you can see the light I installed inside the cabinet.

Got my temp and Ph probe connected and calibrated. Ph is reading 8.07 right now so I'm happy. I need to pick up some CUC next weekend and get a QT tank set up and I'll be set!

Yes please set up the QT lol. I have been seeing more and more people get some pest that start to ruin a reef. A slick tank like this needs to stay "fresh" Great setup

Thanks, I'm hoping to get some CUC in it this weekend and possibly find a QT tank to buy.

Got a little progress made. Skimmer has been running a little over 24 hrs to break it in. Started putting together the frame for the screen. Should be ready for the first corals to go in this weekend!

Almost done with the frame for the net. Just need to add a center brace and the peg that will support it on the top edges of the tank and to hook the netting to.

Got the screen finished and on the tank just in time for my two new additions thanks to one of the local reef club guys! Got a rainbow BTA and a pair of black snowflake clowns.
