Here is a pic of mine I got from Dave. Nicely colored up in the frag tank. Moved it to the display lost all the color.

The Miyagi Tort is a is a beauty. I've had mine for a good while. It took a while to start growing but once it did it's by far the fastest growing tort that I have seen. Its not a very good picture..

Very nice!

So the Miyagi Torte has the yellow tip..good to know.

Side by side my Myagi grew different than my AG and required considerably more light to survive where as AG flourished color and growth @75par but starved the MT (may it rest in peace)
I really love the gold but the deep blue tips are intense!
Secondly, the growth structure...it likes to grow horizontal to 45deg (what I call ledge, for lack of correct verbiage)

Yea the Miyagi grow horizontal as you stated, very odd growth pattern and only gets deep yellow if its blasted with light. I have tried mine under lower light and the yellow base fades fast. Mine is under 2 400 watt metal halides and in the center where the light crosses, certainly a lot of light.
The purple tips on your AG is insane!

AG is the opposite. In lower light the gold rocks, and higher light goes away...although the tip stays rather consistent in any lighting.
I just had lunch w/ Juniormc8704 and were talking about how backwards this coral is. It was ugly (even when he got it from RR) but had a nifty structure so I wanted it!

Good to know. How is Junior? It's been a long time since I've seen him around. Is he still in the hobby?

Doing good! Business and 3 kids have him overly busy.
He asked me to tell everyone hello.
Sadly, he is no longer in the hobby :(

Here is my AG I received today from Robby Brown Via Steven Tyree. I don't know. It has a lot of changing to do. I will place it low in the tank and hope for the best.

I'm sorry you're not happy with that piece. Steve kept it high under Radiums in his system forgetting that it's recommended to keep lower per David's advice. It looks great in my system, so I'd recommend that you wait for it to color back up. I think yours was overly stressed from shipping too.

I currently keep mine @ 175PAR (AI LED)
If that helps @ all.

Thank you.

Will do. I currently have it at the bottom with medium to high flow. I will get a pic with my macro lens today.

Hey Robby. Good to meet you. I am the guy Steven picked up the 6 sticks from you to send to me. You may be right about the shipping stress. They all didn't look so well after the shipping process. I am extremely worried about the orange crush and RR Peacock :( The DD also was a pale tan color. Fingers crossed. Hey, what lighting are you using?

This was mine 8/27/13 after I got it.

And this was the other day. I moved it into my new system and it has lost some of the gold and was replaced with white. I think it is getting to much light so I moved it. I hope is colors back up. It is my all time FAV.

Sweet! Is the AG a type of tort? I have a Cali tort right behind and it looks really similar but green instead if yellow.
