I'm quickly realizing why people are always trying to sell neocaridina shrimp lol. I probably have 6+ pregnant adult females now. Good thing there is the betta and the pygmy cories to help keep populations down
My female Betta kept ALL the Neos down... I think she killed 12 adults and 4 or 5 sub adults.

The lfs asked if I had any more as I had given them a bunch 2 years ago. If I wanted to get back into breeding them, they are an easy outlet. But I don't.

Once the new tank gets here my wife wants me to eventually turn the 125 into a Tetra tank. I imagine I'll end up setting up a CO2 system, planting a bunch, and doing Tetras and some higher end guppies like Black Moscows or Green Moscows. I'll definitely do Neos again if I go that route.

I feel like in a 125 you'd end up with 10,000 neos

My original Neos (back before I switched to Cichlids) came from a 220 with Angels and Guppies. The guppies and Neo babies were food for the Angels. Whatever made it to Adulthood replenished her supply of breeders or got sold. Her guppies were just garbage pail mixes.

I think I'm going with Yellow or Blue on the Neos, Black Moscow or a nice Snakeskin group, and then Ember Tetras, Gold Pristellas, and Candy Cane or Lemon Tetras (or a mix since they'd school together).

I mixed colors for the neos because I don't really care what color they end up and wild type are less likely to get hunted a few generations from now
Yeah. The red ones interbreed with each other and start popping out rainbow colors. Browns are the more "wild type" coloration but I've had brown females have blue, red, and yellow babies.

I'm really enjoying fiddling with the big 120 again. Fixed some lighting wiring for my custom t5 lined tank hood, replaced my 12 year old black boxes with new black boxes, and tuned the skimmer and uv sterilizer. Also cleaned a lot of the algae out with extra long a angled tweezers
