Gorgonian is starting to open up

Also if you ever wondered how your lfs gets those tiny spherical toadstool frags, once it gets pretty massive it randomly drops those when it is happy. In the third pic you can see the light through a hole it is making to self frag another of the little toadstools in the photos. Probably have 10 or 12 that I could give people or turn in.

No idea lol. They grow them in a greenhouse. Kinda wild right? No lights. Just a big coral greenhouse then colored up under some radions a week before sale
Spike supplies a bunch of coral there. Sorry, I don't remember her real name. She's awesome!

I love spikes coral but I've been friends with grace for years so if I'm ever there I always buy from her as she always hooks me up. 75 bucks for 8-9 inches total of 3 different leathers? Practically theft
Never been to the greenhouse, but I want to visit.

Hi, I see your posts often and decided to check out your tank. It seems you and like a lot of the same fish. I enjoyed your tank thread.
Thank you! Finally feeling good again about the 120 around 2 years after that power outage crash. Feels nice to see things starting to come together again

It can really "knock the wind" out of ya when you suffer from a crash like that. Kudos to you for rebounding from that. And your tank is moving in a very nice direction. Very early in my journey of a reef tank, I experienced a crash due to a malfunctioning heater that stuck on. I did not have much in it, but it still was tough.

Some photo updates cuz why not? All 3 added corals look great. The finger leather is growing like mad getting 500+ par at the top of the tank. Gorgonian also fully open and growing. 1 branch is bleaching out but not unexpected as it figures out the flow in the area it was put. Cabbage leather fully unscrunched and periodically has polyps out or not. My saved petco green sinularia is also starting to grow and get good polyp extension. Foxface and tang both getting huge. They love to roam together. Foxface loves to park and hide in the clove polypm also bonus clown goby perching pic.

It's hard to photograph, but the blue flasher is the biggest fish in the tank pushing 3 and a half inches and constantly showing off. The luminescence is something else. Also even though they can get a little "damsely" from time to time, the talbots damsel is truly a beautiful fish who is immensely interesting to watch 3 point turn bus reverse butt waddle in and out of the rockwork.

Just now discovering your thread, so a little late on questions…. That “purple flasher” is spectacular- what kind is it? I’m a newb so don’t easily recognize most fish.

After a brief break in period, gorgonian is essentially fully open, and I moved the finger leather and cabbage leather to their eventual homes. If they start bleaching out or close up for too long will tone down light again

Really like your varied coral and fish selections. Nice blend, not chaotic, but full of interest!

Goal for me is to have a gorgonian or fan type coral in my tank once it matures a bit. I need the contrast on my heavy, softie/lps look. Will be watching yours grow for now!
