What is an inexpensive doing system? Do you even have to dose? Will be getting a AIO 40 long shortly. I am just wondering if I can get away from it for awhile? Thanks

Congrats on the new AIO!

You shouldn't need to dose unless your coral load is big enough that regular water changes don't replenish the needed components. Testing is key to decide when to start dosing, if ever.

A simple inexpensive dosing system that I use on a couple of my tanks is All for Reef (buy it in powder form) with a BRS dosing pump on a timer. Very easy and economical and it covers all your trace elements.

Depends entirely on what you want to keep, and how you want to keep it.
