Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm, No Thumb Safety for my CCW and a Sig Sauer P229R DAK in .40! Also just picked up a Colt LE6720 AR15... I have shotguns for turkey and Winchester pre-64 model lever action rifles for deer... And a 100+ year old double barrel shotgun that was my great grandfathers... That I used as a kid for squirrels.

I really hate this too. The 2nd amendment should be for the entire country. Keep the faith brother and hopefully it will change for the better soon.

Interesting thread. I have never owed a gun, but I just got my foid card and am planning to get my first. Just seems like the right thing to do and have now.

Very interesting to see what people have.

1st rifle - AR build with a .22 conversation or an AR with a Ruger 10/22

1st shotgun- Saiga 12 and Mossberg 935 for skeet and hunting

1st pistol- Glock 19 with .22 conversation kit or desert eagle.

You don't have to spend a ton of money to get started. Smith and Wesson and ruger have great guns. I'd stick with a name brand though. Do a lot of research and most of our gun shops will let you shoot before you buy.

That is the plan. Was all ready, then the holidays and the hustle and bustle started. After the new year now.

A Stevens Cadet .22 will be under the tree for my 10 year old son. We have 3 sons, and my wife likes to shoot, so it's something she enjoys doing with him. ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1451018812.164839.jpg

Nice rifle! My wife doesn't shoot but at the movies lastnight she leans over and asks , "are you packing?" She understands the importance of personal protection in today's world.
