Steph, I just read your thread and it really touched my heart. So sorry that you had to go through all that but its awesome to see people reaching out to encourage in so many ways. We sometimes go through tough times so that we are equipped down the road to help someone else so hang in there. So excited to see your 20L develop.

Aipstasia, help! I'm posting a picture. It's tiny, in the middle of the Zoa's. How do I get to it to kill it?

I turned the picture to B&W to help see it. It's the "fork" in the middle

I have successfully killed them with a kalkwasser paste. Make it as thick as you can and still squirt through a syringe. Then shoot the mixture straight down its open mouth. If it retracts before you squirt it won't kill it. I've used lemon juice too but in a reef tank I prefer kalk so as to not bring down pH.

It is about the size of a grain if rice. My eyes aren't good enough to find a mouth. Any suggestions?

+1 on Vlangel post, kalkwasser does the trick.
You don't have to squirt it in the mouth, just on it before it closes up.
Sorry but that last sentence really sound family friendly, we still talking treading and killing Aipstasia here, LOL.
Nice selection of corals you got there now.

May I make a suggestion?
When you try to kill it may release gametes and so reproduce. If there's just one, remove what it's on, cover the beastie with super glue gel, then put it back in. Bye bye, aiptasia, with nothing released into the water column.

Just be careful not to get any on the zoas!!

Can easily be taken out. It's on a small frag plug. Now, if I pull out the plug will it close up like the Zoa's do?

The aiptasia? Doesn't matter. You cover that thing good. The glue will set fast and then finish curing just fine underwater. Then you can either leave it be or crack off the dried glue in a couple weeks (could be days, but to be safe...). That little pain-in-the-butt will be no more.

If I'd known about this when I first started seeing them, I would not be in the situation I am now >.<

Does anyone have any idea what these are? I got them almost a month ago. They had pale peach centers with "speckles" now, as you can see the centers are vivid yellow with green skirts. You can't see the speckles very well in the pic. They are getting more vibrant.
Thanks,
Stephanie

I thought I would share Lightening our Citron Goby, who has chosen the Duncan as his chair. He shimmies on top of it until it closes and then he sits on top of it.

Just an update. My Radioactive Dragon Eyes since fragging 20 days ago has gone from 2 to 8. I guess that means that I'm doing something right :). I put my 8 ga back together and have all of the zoas, palys and mushrooms in it. Also added the torch and Duncan. All seem super happy. Everything else is in the 20L tank. I need to get some rock for it and will be adding a pair of clowns. My 8 year old keeps asking for them. Here is the 8 ga today
