I have never had to run a chiller on my tanks with halides. Exhaust fans on the canopy and ambient room temperature are usually all you need. My old 120 I ran 400's in a canopy and never once had a heat problem. I used 4 fans to pulling hot air out and 2 blowing in the cooler air. Also ran the a/c in the summer around 68°-69°.

I totally dig it! We generally keep the house at 70 but I tend to keep my water temp lower than normal, say around 73°F..

You check a supply house yet?

Turns out Home Depot had it after all... My experience with checking at HD and Lowes has been negative just about everytime, usually just order plumbing offline!

A few updates!!

Canopy is just about constructed, trying to decide if I am going to "cut it and hinge it" or not...

Aquascape has been started. Using some acrylic rods to make some cool shapes and ledges!

Finishing stand facade tomorrow night I hope, or it will have to wait until next week.

Canopy looks great! Really like the rock work so far! Are you planning on putting a water shutoff inside the house also for those emergency situations?

Thank you! Thank you! I have put a lot of time into this canopy since I never got around to making the one for my nano before this (the 120) [Insert Crazy Face Here]
And yes Sir! There is a valve above the T and on the 1/4" line headed to my RO/DI, I will also have one in the garage between the wall and Unit.

Getting closer!!! Almost ready for water!

Nice build! love the attention to detail and the aquascape is looking great!

Details! Details! Details! Wifey said if I wanted a bigger tank, it had to be done right, and it had to look good!

Thank you for your kind words! A little update... It may still change... But I kind of like it!

Almost ready!
Looking good so far :D

So close I can taste the saltwater! I am so ready to have this baby filled and flowing! But going slow and taking my time! Patience is key and a great virtue, I am feeling centered and content! Blissful and stable! Eager yet at ease!

Currently jamming to some tunes on Pandora!

I really wish I didn't have a Sand Soccer Tournament in Virginia Beach this weekend. I could really get a lot done in 2 days. I just have to move and set up my water station. Prime and paint the facade and canopy! Make approximately 300g of water. I may go ahead and replace my rodi filters first to ensure a clean slate with water quality..Going to order an Apex soon.
But.... I am still...
Considering a bigger skimmer.
Considering a Calcium Rx.
Considering a lighting upgrade, debating on 2 AI Hydra52s w/ led actinic strips or an ATI 8x54w T5HO, unless I can find a matching pair of 400w MH w/ spider style reflectors in decent to new condition, then I could just supplement with led or T5 strips.

So much to do, so much to decide, yet so very close to having my reef wet!!

Mike and Terry's tank lights are awesome but I think the difference is the kessils they are running with the hydras. Bigger skimmer and calcium rx you can't go wrong with imo. Feel bad my atb just collecting dust but we are still not sure what we are going to do. You know I will make you the deal of a lifetime. Think if I do I will have a race with you and Andy . Who wants it the most lol.
