If adding calcium and magnesium caused stuff to precipitate out of concentration you could have had an alkalinity fluctuation?having some issues. And pretty puzzled.
Ph, Ahh... i unno..
Alk 12
calcium: 310
was 390 on friday night. After dosing calcium last night. Calcium 310, Either I don't know how to use Saliferts kits, or its a junk test. I followed directions, 1 scoop of powder (don't shake yet) get part 2 solution drip, shake blah blah.... 390 to 310 in a night....
Magnesium is at 1400. I added a little to kind of get it up to where the green monti likes. So, 50-80 more to go.
I didn't test nothing else.
1 dead molly this morning.
Alk was steady at 12. Mags was about 1 tablespoon sunday night and about 2 ounces of calcium buffer later. If adding calcium and magnesium caused stuff to precipitate out of concentration you could have had an alkalinity fluctuation?
My calcium has been 490 for almost a year now. I haven't dosed yet...I swapped the spots of my calcium and my alk 2parts once and was dosing the wrong one for the longest time...
pure stupidity. only needed to dose alk when my kalk was low. so didn't notice because would only hit it once or twice till refill kalk..
I still have 500 calcium though... it just doesn't drop.

A little break. I might make some bread.
Molly tank has been doing well. I think I mentioned I fed one of the males to Eli? If not. Well, I did. They were going to kill each other anyhow.
I don't get it. I made an accident that fits in with another post. I haven't added that sock in since reading that response.your dino murder success is inspiring
They do and my dinos are definitely different from yours. I have a next step if mine keep acting up but right now they aren't bad, so i'm hesitant to change anything unless they get worse again.I don't get it. I never got a scope to ID mine. They came in with a free box of coral. Not a big deal. I knew I was going to lose my acros at the end of my pregnancy. It hurts I never got what I wanted over to Flora. They all died, except a odd frag and the fish. The wrasse I want to flush down the toilet. They do and my dinos are definitely different from yours. Anyone else use no mechanical filtration?
No socks, no sponges, no fancy filter rollers, anyone else use absolutely no mechanical filtration in their tank? I had two problems using socks and sponges. Laziness of cleaning them and them killing fish if they got pulled down the overflow. Yes my phosphate is high but my phosphates were...www.reef2reef.com
