Wow, if that piece went for $1k then the colony at WWC is worth over $30k. Such a gorgeous coral. Can't wait to check this piece out in a year over at Top Shelf and see what cool colors they pull out.

I saw it today too and I was skeptical when it was on his live sale but I must say its true to its color and is a really nice piece. I personally wouldn't pay what he wanted for it but dang it was bright!

I was right there with you, I have seen so many high end acros in person that were just ehh, that I really was not expecting much...but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised with this particular one, which is saying allot coming from me...I think a couple people will owe him an apology after they see it in person. It is way up there price wise.

There are so many haters out there on this piece. I think people just can't believe that those are its real colors. They are all assuming its super photoshopped. I plan on getting one, but its going to be years (I'm not paying 900, I've seen frags rtn at that size for no apparent reason even when everything else in the tank is doing super awesome and a 900 dollar loss would be too much for me to swallow). I'd probably drop 400-500 for a frag though. That's why I'm saying its going to be years!

It sold at the show for 900 to another vendor. JF's wife told him he should bring one to the show, so he did. No Photoshop on that one, its the real deal for best acros.

I agree, I understand the nay sayers but to be honest everything I have from jf is very true to his pics for the most part, and I have a good amount of jf pieces. In fact I have taken some pics in daylight that make some of his stuff look way better than his own pics.

Definitely can't compare jf to a few other sellers...

The price is one thing, but it's nice to see that it looks good in person! Wish he had released a better photo of it initially, it did looked photoshopped to hell, but I am happy to see that wasn't the case.

Every vendor takes some liberties with their photos.......they need to compete with their counterparts to stay in business. I just accept that going in & wait for pictures and results from reefers as time goes by. This also allows for the coral to settle into a more realistic price range.

I can say I've eliminated a lot of corals after seeing them in pics over time or in person. Usually about 1 out of 10 ends up being something I want in my tank.

If your the impatient type, then it's at your own risk.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
